We continue our worship series “Why? Why do we believe what we believe?” by addressing some questions about baptism.

The first question is, “What is a sacrament?” This question will set up our look at baptism this Sunday and our look at Communion next Sunday.

After considering what a sacrament is, we will address:

What is baptism? We look at the biblical/historical understanding of baptism that goes back to Genesis 17.

What are the promises made in baptism? We look at the promises God makes and the promises we make in baptism. Each of God’s promises can in some way be represented by water – bath, womb, a drink, and streams.

Why do we baptize babies?
